Evy flees her Norwegian hamlet, Sandnes, for the urban world. Her goal is to move to Paris with her fiancé and find success in the academic field. But when she returns to Sandnes for a friend's wedding, her future dreams pop like heart-shaped balloons: her boyfriend breaks up with her. Suddenly, Evy finds herself sitting in her grandmother's bridal shop procrastinating diligently, her doctoral thesis on the back burner.
