The Swedish nineteen-year-olds Laura and Alex plan to spend their summer couch-surfing and enjoying life, true to their motto “crazy in Europe”. When Laura wakes up in a stranger’s bed after partying all night in Warsaw, it changes their trip completely. Was she drunk and therefore the unwilling victim of assault or was it exhilarating consensual sex? Laura can’t remember what happened and is haunted by insecurity and speechlessness. Former certainties begin to crumble, as does her friendship with easy-going, independent Alex, and her relationship with her boyfriend. While the two young women continue travelling through Prague, Berlin, and Paris, Laura grapples with hazy fragments of memory and fights for her sense of self. The feature film debut by Swedish director Fanny Ovesen takes audiences on the intimate and intense journey of a young woman searching for her own needs and limits – eschewing easy answers.
