Black Sands II

The Icelandic sand is still black and the atmosphere still inhospitable in the second season of "Black Sands" (NFL 2021). Anita, the policewoman who during the first season was forced to face her past while solving a murder in her hometown, has since had a child. Motherhood, her demanding job, imminent postpartum depression, and her relationship with her wife Frida require all the strength she has. When an elderly neighbour is found dead shortly after voicing a disturbing suspicion to Anita’s grandmother, Anita is thrown into a new investigation. She needs to find out how deeply her family is involved in the case – and what that means for her. In the new, adrenaline-charged season of this Nordic Noir, showrunner Baldvin Z expands the universe of "Black Sands" and reveals more about its main protagonist. Brilliantly acted and with a dark and compelling aesthetic, the new season works as stand-alone viewing even for people who have not seen season one. The NFL is screening episodes 1, 2, and 6 of the eight-part series.
