Just as Klaus Borowski is preparing for his holidays, a dead infant is found in a parking lot near Kiel. There is no trace of the mother. The only clue, an admissions wristband to the heavy metal festival in Wacken, leads Borowski and his colleague Mila Sahin to the otherwise sleepy town, where the stage and stands are in the midst of being set up. A caterer reveals that he gave a young woman with a baby a ride to Wacken, where he let her out on the outskirts. Where did she go? As the streets begin to fill with more and more festival-goers, the investigators have to delve into some secrets in the village. On his 20th anniversary of service, the Kiel commissioner goes to the legendary Wacken Open Air, in an episode featuring an appearance by the festival's co-founder Thomas Jensen. The background to the investigation is perfect: between northern German village charm and heavy metal fandom, the ambience swells to a crescendo during the annually occurring madness.
