Willi Escapes

Also available as part of the short film program Filmforum Shorts: Walks of Life ⸺ Neuleben in Mecklenburg-West Pommerania, near the Wakenitz River, 1973. The workday is over, and 21-year-old Willi and his friends spontaneously decide to “go over”. A life-threatening adventure in which he leaves a lot behind – including his girlfriend, Renate. They don't see each other again until years later.
