From a Distance

Also available as part of the short film program Filmforum Shorts: Familial Tales ⸺ Anna does not have a close relationship to her father Hung, who came to East Germany from Vietnam as a young guest worker. She treasures her independence, and her life has little connection to her father's country of birth – which makes him sad. When she learns, by chance, that he was affected by the racist attacks in Rostock in 1992, she has to look at her father's origins and past with new eyes.
