Let Me Paint My World for You

Do I see the world differently than you do? A question that many of us have asked ourselves, but one that is particularly relevant for artists with autism. For them, the vision and consciousness that they express in their art is found in this perceived otherness of experience. The protagonists choose differing artistic practices – painting and visual arts, sound experiments, and performance. We meet them in Germany, Switzerland, and England. They take us to exhibitions and to their workspaces. The film gives them individual, participatory space to talk about both themselves and their artwork. Topics include creative processes, neurodivergence and inclusion, social stereotypes, and their individual boundaries, which are too often ignored. A collage about creativity as a language, and the endeavour to convey what is seen.
