In Another Palestine

It’s a new year in Palestine. In another Palestine, in the middle of the Peruvian rain forest. It is a sleepy village with a name that is heavy with meaning. Children swim in the river Jordan and a mural exhorts "Viva Palestina". But, like the painting, from one generation to the next, memories of where the village name originated are fading.
