In order to watch films, a free registration is required first.

To register, you need to enter your surname, first name, date of birth and a password of your choice. If the registration is successful, a confirmation email with a confirmation link for the account (please also check the spam folder) will be sent to the email address that was entered during registration. By clicking on the confirmation link in the email, the account is activated.

At online.nordische-filmtage.de you can click on the Person-Icon to log in and out, manage your account settings, and view the films you have rented. Once you are logged in, you can rent films by clicking on "Rent film" on the film detail page of your desired film. There you will be redirected through the payment system and can make your rental via PayPal or credit card.

In total, around 60 percent of the entire film program can currently be streamed. There is a streaming option for all films listed on online.nordische-filmtage.de. On the festival homepage www.nordische-filmtage.de, the films with additional streaming options are marked with a symbol in the program overview and linked to the streaming page online.nordische-filmtage.de via a direct link. 

All films will be unlocked starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, and will be available for viewing throughout the festival period until 11:59 p.m. on November 17, 2024, if not stated different. After the free initial registration or a login to the platform, the available films will be available for rental. As soon as the payment process has been completed, the film is rented and can be viewed within 48 hours.

The films will be available for rental on the platform from 7 p.m. on November 6 until 11:59 p.m. on November 17, if not stated different. From the time of purchase, the film can be watched within 48 hours. Films rented on November 17 can be watched accordingly for another 48 hours. 

As accredited guest, you should have received a mail with a voucher code. If you did not receive the code, please reach out to support@nordische-filmtage.de.

To redeem your code at online.nordische-filmtage.de, you first need to register with the video-on-demand platform of the 66th Nordic Film Days Lübeck. You can do this by either following this link or by going to online.nordische-filmtage.de and clicking on the person icon in the top right corner of the menu. 

After you have created an account, you can click on the following link or in the settings menu on "Redeem coupon". There you enter your coupon code and your account is accredited. You now have access to all movies that can be offered as VoD from Nov 6, 7 pm, up to and including Nov 17 2024. Please keep in mind, that some films are only available during the time of the festival itself, from Nov 6, 7 pm until Nov 10 or might have other limitations. This will be noted in the films' description site.

If you have any questions regarding the registration process, feel free to consult our FAQ or write to us at vod@nordische-filmtage.de. After registration your account is created, but not yet activated. Please click on the verification link which was sent to you by e-mail. Now you can log in.

You can pay via PayPal & credit card.

Use of the streaming platform is only possible within Germany due to geoblocking. In some cases, there may be caps on the maximum total number of times a movie can be rented - this is indicated in the movie description.

On your computer or laptop

Nordische Filmtage online is a browser based Internet-Portal. That means, that you only need an Internet-Browser to be able to navigate on our system and then watch movies in the browser, doesn’t matter what kind of Computer (PC or Mac) you use.

It’s suggested to keep your Computer operating system and used browser on the newest stand.

Connect your PC to the TV using an HDMI cable. It's even easier for owners of an Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV. Using the Airplay feature (not screen sync), you can stream the screen content on your iPad or iPhone wirelessly to your TV through Apple TV. 

With a Chromecast Stick or with a Chromecast-compatible TV, you can transfer your movies to the TV for Android and Apple devices and navigate from your mobile phone/tablet. Simply plug the stick into your TV and open our platform on your mobile phone. 

Select the desired film here and press the transfer icon to the TV in the player.

If available, you can switch language and subtitles in the player. Start the movie first. At the bottom right you will find three dots. Click on it, a selection menu appears. Under "Language" select the desired language and under "Subtitles" the subtitles.

If there are subtitles, you can set the size, color and font directly in the player:

• First start the movie. At the bottom right you will find three dots.
• Click on it and a selection menu will appear.
• Click on "Subtitle"
• Under the selection of subtitles offered you will find the settings for the font size and a choice between the colors white, yellow and green for the subtitle color.

If the films are presented with "burned" subtitles, it is not possible to change the setting there. 

It is important to us to provide all users with barrier-free access to the festivalportal. We design the plattform to support technologies for barrier-free use, e.g. keyboard navigation, screen readers. All pages are easy and intuitive to use. We pay attention to sufficient contrasts and a page structure with semantic markups. Subtitles are individually adjustable in size and color. When possible, we provide audio descriptions and subtitles for the hearing impaired.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for websites to improve accessibility for people with impairments. Here you can find detailed documentation on the accessibility (VPAT© Version 2.4.Rev) based on these requirements.

On the portal we offer films that have received different age ratings from the Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft (FSK). To ensure compliance with the requirements of the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media (JMStV), registration on our portal is only possible by stating the date of birth. If the age falls below the age rating of the FSK for a film, the film cannot be played by the user. You can also enter a PIN and set an age in your customer account. Films from this age and above can then only be played by entering the PIN. 

The movies are only available from Germany, due to licence agreements.

We suggest an broadband internet connection with at least 2 MBit/s data transmission rate for movies in SD quality and 6 MBit/s data transmission rate for movies in HD-quality. Generally, streams also work with a low speed of Internet.

Our Player automatically takes an adaption of the movie quality, if the Internet speed isn’t enough.
